Procedures for repatriation of human remains

When the death of a loved one occurs in a foreign country、 the family may wish to have
their loveed one returned to their home country. These days, many foreign people live in and visit Japan.

What should be done if a death occurs？

1.Inform the hospital or police department that has the deceased,M.M.T.O.C　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

will handle the aftercare and direction on your behalf.

2.Call M.M.T.O.C. and Fax the first call information sheet to our office.

3.M.M.T.O.C. will arrange the following.

• Removal of deceased to our mortuary
• Embalming
• Restorative art ( if necessary )
• Dressing and any cosmetics.
• Casketing
• Completion of required Embassy documents
• Arrangements for international transportation
• Family counseling
• Viewing in Japan ,funeral if desired
